Mirza Baig is a Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Ruya Partners, bringing over 30 years of global experience in private credit, principal investing, and investment banking across the US, UK, Asia, and the MENA region.

Before co-founding Ruya Partners, Mirza established and led Waha Capital’s private credit business in Abu Dhabi. Prior to that, he held senior roles at HSBC, including Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Commercial Banking Origination for the MENA region.

Rashid Siddiqi
Partner

Rashid Siddiqi is a Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Ruya Partners, with over 27 years of experience in direct investing and investment banking across the US and the MENA region.

Before co-founding Ruya Partners, Rashid co-led the private credit business at Waha Capital in Abu Dhabi alongside Mirza Baig, following his 2017 appointment. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at NBK Capital Partners in Dubai, where he was part of the founding team of the firm’s alternative investments platform. During his nine-year tenure at the firm, Rashid played a key role in pioneering the private credit asset class across the MENA and Turkey region and helped establish the firm’s track record in both private credit and private equity.

Omar AlYawer
Partner

Omar AlYawer is a Partner and Chief Capital Formation Officer at Ruya Partners, with over 26 years of experience in capital raising and institutional investor relations across private and public markets in the US, UK, and the MENA region.

Before joining Ruya Partners, Omar was Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was responsible for re-establishing the firm’s presence in the Gulf region. He has held senior roles advising institutional investors in the region for more than 15 years, including as Director of Middle East at Man Group, Director of Institutional Investors at Franklin Templeton Investments, and Head of Investor Relations at NBK Capital Partners, where he worked closely with Rashid Siddiqi beginning in 2008.

Shweta Shastri
Vice President

Shweta is a Vice President at Ruya Partners, with over 10 years of experience in private equity, green infrastructure investing, and investment banking across India and EMEA.

Before joining Ruya Partners, Shweta was Vice President – Investments at EverSource Capital, part of the Everstone Group, where she also worked with the firm’s Investment Office. Prior to that, she was in the Investment Banking division of Deutsche Bank (Corporate & Investment Bank), covering the Industrials sector across EMEA. She began her career as an Equity Research Analyst at Anvil Share & Stock Broking in Mumbai, covering the Indian tire sector.

Badma Lidzhanov
Investment Associate

Badma Lidzhanov is an Investment Associate at Ruya Partners with over five years of experience in corporate finance, valuation, and leveraged finance.

Prior to joining Ruya, Badma worked at VTB in the Leveraged Finance department, where he focused on analyzing M&A and LBO transactions. He was involved in numerous deals across sectors such as agriculture, transport infrastructure, e-commerce, and IT. Before that, he was a Senior Consultant in the Valuation, Modelling, and Economics department at EY, where he developed a strong foundation in valuation, accounting, and financial analysis.

Nasra Alhashemi
Office & Administrative Manager

Nasra is the Office and Administrative Manager at Ruya Partners, with over eight years of experience in office management, executive support, and corporate administration.

She also serves as Company Secretary and works closely with the Board of Ruya Partners to support governance processes and communication. Prior to joining Ruya, Nasra was an Executive Assistant at Waha Capital, supporting Mirza Baig and Rashid Siddiqi.
